Banghwasuryujeong (Yongyeon)

A water performance blending light, water, and sound, inspired by Joseon Dynasty boating excursions, set against “Yongyeon,” the tranquil pond below Banghwasuryujeong in the northeastern part of Suwon Hwaseong, where King Jeongjo strolled with his mother, Lady Hyegyeong-gung Hong, reciting poetry and enjoying music

An immersive, interactive time-travel experience that brings a day in King Jeongjo’s life in 1795 to life through cutting-edge media technologies, including installation art, light performances, laser art, projection mapping, and immersive sound, as visitors explore Hwaseong Haenggung.

A modern-day Yangnoyeon inspired by “Yangnoyeon,” a special banquet that King Jeongjo prepared in 1795 for older adults aged 60 and above to celebrate the 60th birthday of his mother, Lady Hyegyeong-gung Hong. A symbolic program that revives Jeongjo’s spirit of filial piety and respect for elders in the present day
