The 62nd Suwon Hwaseong Festival – Main Poster Design
The Suwon Hwaseong Festival is Korea’s representative citizen-participatory cultural tourism festival, centered around Suwon Hwaseong, which embodies King Jeongjo’s filial piety and his vision for national prosperity and strength. It introduces the diverse history and culture of Suwon.
The poster design takes inspiration from the solid structure of Suwon Hwaseong, built stone by stone, and incorporates various festival elements such as King Jeongjo’s Royal Parade, traditional processions, and the Yajo performance.
Each element is expressed using the luster and patterns of mother-of-pearl (traditional Korean inlay), creating a look that is both classical and splendid. Through this, the poster conveys the spirit and tradition of the Suwon Hwaseong Festival.
